Hi there! It’s so nice to see you! So glad you are here ! Let me introduce myself. My name is Cathy Pettyjohn-Honeycutt, that’s a mouthful, huh? I am the beautiful, talented, funny wife of Mr. Scotty so Hottie Honeycutt, the creator of campsitebrews blog. Before we go any further, I need to add a disclaimer , I say bad words, i like bad words. They help be get through life. Who decided that a bad word was a bad word? They are just words… and they’re fun to say! Antywaze, let’s get to the subject at hand…… CAMPING & BREWS! 2 of my favorite things!

Gonna back up just a little. SO, when I was growing up in the teeny tiny town Lafayette GA, population 725, I am guesstimating, with My Daddy, Mama, and my older brother, we never went camping. We just weren’t that family. We pretty much stayed close to home , taking day trips every blue moon to exotic local such as Rossville, GA population 825, again I am guesstimating. In other words, when I met my beloved Scott, he was a seasoned camper, and knew a hell of lot more about the activity than I did. After we started shacking up, or moved in together sounds better, we started discussing buying a camper. I had been camping as a adult a few times, maybe twice, so I had to rely on his wisdom. So we decide to visit our local camper dealer, and looked at a pop up camper. I just thought it was the cutest thing you could ever camp in, so we bought the Damn thing, and that’s when I got the camping bug.

I wanted to go camping the day we brought that baby home, but Life as it is, got in the way a little. We ended up waiting nearly a month before our first outing. If you have read Scott’s Blogs, you must realize by now that we have different writing styles. He tells the facts and about the campgrounds, I am going to be telling about the trip and the shenanigans we get into! So our first trip was to Desoto State Park in Alabama. We got a late start that day, because I didn’t get off until 5:00 at that time, and WE had to stop and g gather necessity’s, which is beer. When we finally arrived, it was cold as hell! It was raining, and if my memory serves me well, it was snowing, I have no fact checker on staff, so you will just have to trust me on that. I was cold, I was probably bitching about being cold, I needed a beer asap, however, It was so fun and exciting setting up our little pop up for the first time. We hunkered down that night in our dwelling for the weekend, and had a absolute blast! We played cards, we drank beer, we played a drinking game called “quarters” , if you know, you know. We stayed plenty warm with our propane powered heater that night.

The next mornting, we made breakfast on our out door propane cook stove, and decided to go for a hike. It was very nice, until, we got our asses lost. I recall Scott calling the office to see if we could get a late checkout, which most campgrounds will allow, if no one is scheduled to be in that spot that day. Good news, we found our way back!

It was really a great first camping trip, and I, the most unlikeliest camper you have ever met, was HOOKED! Since then we have been on many more camping trips and adventures , which I will write about later, cause I am not a fast typer, and I need to stop for now, cause I got shit to do today. Hey, thanks again for stopping by , and thank you for going on this crazy camping , drinking beer, visiting breweries trip with us!
I love this!!!!
