I’ve been living the nomad lifestyle this spring/summer and that includes one of my favorite pastimes, visiting breweries. Let’s face it there are so many breweries now that you can even find them in small towns. As I’m trekking across the west for the first time in my life I’m finding establishments of all styles ….
On this magic carpet ride of beerliciousness there have been a few gems and WildEdge Brewing Collective is one of them.

Nestled in the picturesque town of Cortez, Colorado, WildEdge Brewing Collective is a hidden gem for craft beer enthusiasts. Founded in 2017 by Tucker Robinson, this brewery has quickly become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors. With a commitment to community, sustainability, and innovation, WildEdge Brewing offers a unique and memorable experience for anyone who steps through its doors.
The brewery’s philosophy revolves around creating high-quality, small-batch beers that reflect the spirit of the region. WildEdge’s brewers are known for their creativity and dedication to using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. This approach not only supports local agriculture but also results in beers with distinctive flavors that capture the essence of Southwest Colorado. Whether you’re a fan of hoppy IPAs, rich stouts, or refreshing lagers, WildEdge has something to satisfy every palate.

One of the standout features of WildEdge Brewing is its welcoming and cozy taproom. Designed to be a community gathering place, the taproom offers a relaxed atmosphere where patrons can enjoy their drinks while mingling with friends or making new ones. The rustic decor, complete with reclaimed wood and local artwork, adds to the charm, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring the surrounding natural beauty.
WildEdge Brewing also prides itself on its environmental stewardship. The brewery implements sustainable practices in its operations, from energy-efficient brewing processes to recycling and composting programs. They even encourage customers to participate in their “Mug Club,” which promotes the use of reusable mugs to reduce waste. This commitment to sustainability not only helps protect the stunning landscapes of Cortez but also aligns with the values of many of its patrons.
Beyond the beer and the eco-friendly practices, WildEdge Brewing is deeply ingrained in the local community. The brewery frequently hosts events such as live music performances, trivia nights, and seasonal festivals, providing entertainment and fostering a sense of togetherness. They also collaborate with local businesses and organizations, further strengthening their ties to Cortez. For anyone visiting the area, a trip to WildEdge Brewing is more than just a stop for great beer; it’s an opportunity to experience the vibrant community spirit that defines this unique Colorado town.
So you are probably saying yeah, yeah that’s all well and good. Community, sustainability that’s all wonderful but what I care about is the beer. Well, in my opinion it’s the best beer I’ve had in weeks and by far the best brewery in easy driving distance of my campground. The beer tenders were attentive, talkative and shared a lot of knowledge about local hiking trails, bear activity and other useful things.

The food was delicious, at least the chicken salad sandwich, was very, very good. The locals were friendly and as I often do I spent a few beers in bar side communion with them. I am a little bummed that I did not pick up any packaged beer or swag from here.

This summer was supposed to be spent in the great state of Wyoming, checking off some more national parks. The President and Mr. Musk had different plans. Due to the federal cuts, the national park scene has a lot of uncertainty. - Chateau Le Coeur
Just a short ways off of I-10 you will find a winery named Chateau Le Coeur. The owners moved to northern Florida from the Great Northwest. They have wineries and vineyards in Washington and Oregon. They have an interesting story they tell about starting the winery. - Sunday Morning Musings Ep. #6
