I used to see all these stickers on car windows with just a simple SGI on them. I didn’t know what that meant until I went to St. George Island about 11 or 12 years ago. I didn’t understand the stickers that said. Don’t tell anyone. Once you go, you know. I finally had the opportunity to share this special place with Cathy.
This is one of my favorite places and now to share with her and to go for the first time as a full time RV’er was very special to me. We did not stay on the island. We stayed about a mile from the bridge going over to the island in Eastpoint, Florida at a very nice RV resort.
Coastline RV Resort is located on the bay with an unobstructed view of the bay and St. George Island. From there you can be on the island in about 10 minutes. You can be in Apalachicola in 15 minutes. Fishing in Carrabelle in 15 minutes. Tate’s Hell State Park is very close and Wakulla Springs is less than about an hour away.
The resort is split into Coastline East and Coastline West and the parks are less than a quarter mile apart. both have pools and bathhouses. The main office and tiny camp store are in East. West has some outdoor activity areas with cornhole and some other activities. East is slightly higher end with patterned paving bricks and paved roads. West has nicely graveled roads.
The pads are all concrete and a nice size. There’s plenty of room to park two vehicles at most sites. Where the concrete or pavers ends the grass begins. They do great job of maintaining the grounds. Flower beds with red mulch and grass are meticulous between the sites. There was noticeable absence of ants here also
We didn’t go to the bathhouses in East but the ones in west were clean and well maintained as you can see from the photos and the laundry we nice and clean also.
If you are staying in West you can walk to a decent BBQ place that has outdoor seating and live music on the weekends. Food was above average although I did not try their prime rib which they are known for.
